Morning Prayer, Friday, May 10, 2024 - WORD(S) OF THE DAY:  LIFE IS EASIER WITH JESUS

Father God, forgive me in those times when I took matters into my own hands and tried to work out my problem without You.  I know that You will work everything out for my good in Your own time.  Amen

“Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?  God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.  He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.  He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.  And he knows everything, inside and out.”   (Isaiah 40:28)

“God hears every unspoken word.  He sees every unseen wound.   He knows the answer to your prayer even before you know to ask it.  He’s God!”  Have you ever thought you were on equal ground with God? That is what happened with Satan and he was thrown out of heaven.  No matter how much education, wealth or knowledge we receive on this earth, there will never be a time when we are on equal footing with God.  He will always be greater, grander, smarter, wiser and well beyond anything we can ever think up.  Sometimes, I do think we get above ourselves.  That brings to memory a few times when my grandmother would say to one of us, “I think you are smelling yourself.”  She was telling us that we thought we knew more or was smarter than her.  I may have thought years ago that I was capable of handling my life, but the more I live, the wiser I get in that department.  I don’t know a whole lot at all.  I need a GREATER power to lead and guide me through this sometimes-worrisome life.  I created a t-shirt recently that says, “Life is just better with Jesus.”  That is the truth.  When I look back over my life, I know there have been days when I could not figure things out at all.  I tried.  I prayed.  I racked my brains and got nothing.  I know my place and my limitations in this life.  What I do know is that I do not know more than God.  Listen, when it comes down to what we know and what God knows, God will always come out on top.  He will always know more.  He will always lead and guide us in the right way if we are open and willing to follow Him.
